Development Facilitation Program
The Development Facilitation Program supports Victoria’s building and construction sector during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The program seeks to fast track the assessment of identified priority projects that:
- deliver investment into the Victorian economy
- create or keep people in jobs
- provide a substantial public benefit
The program follows the success of the Building Victoria’s Recovery Taskforce pilot program and is currently set to operate until 31 December 2022.
Standing Advisory Committee
A standing advisory committee (SAC) established by the Minister for Planning oversees the program, assisted by Invest Victoria. The SAC and Invest Victoria ensure it is robust and transparent.
All projects are considered under the Planning and Environment Act 1987. Subject to the same level of rigorous assessment as other standard planning approvals.
